Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Experience Days at Ontario Tech

Are you wondering what it's like to be a student at Ontario Tech? Join us for our on-campus Experience Days! 

Experience Days are your opportunity to learn more about the area(s) of study that interest you. You're invited to attend program-specific information sessions where you can speak directly with professors and current students. We'll also be bringing the pictures in our viewbook to life—you'll get to step inside our labs, visit campus buildings and see where you'll be studying with your classmates.  

What to expect at Experience Days 

All of our Experience Days event will follow the same agenda. Campus tours will be available throughout the entire event, from 10 to 12:30 p.m.

10 to 10:20 a.m.: Presentation from our Recruitment team. 
10:30 to 11 a.m.: Program information session 1.
11:10 to 11:40 a.m.: Program information session 2.
11:45 to 12:30 p.m.: Lab tours and experiential activities. 

We look forward to getting to know you! You're invited to bring up to two guests with you—but please let us know they're coming when you register.

The health and safety of Ontario Tech University’s campus and the broader community has always been the university’s top priority. Following discussions surrounding the ongoing risks posed by COVID-19, including the emergence of new variants, Ontario Tech requires that:

  • All campus visitors must be double vaccinated as per the university's mandatory vaccination directive.
  • All campus visitors must complete our COVID-19 pre-entry screening before coming to campus. 
  • Masks be worn at all times in indoor spaces and outside where distancing is not possible.
  • Prior to entering university buildings, Campus Security personnel situated at designated building entrances will ask to see all of the following:

    • A paper copy, photo or PDF of your most recent vaccination receipt.
    • Your green electronic screening receipt indicating they you may come to campus.
    • A valid piece of photo identification, such as a driver’s license or health card.
